• Kevin..Shirtless? • |

Glee stars Jenna Ushkowitz and Kevin McHale hit the beach in Monaco yesterday during a break from the festivities at the Monte Carlo TV Festival. She was in a striped blue and white bikini for their afternoon on the sand, while he went shirtless to lounge on a deck chair. The couple have a professional relationship, but it looks like they were getting extra cozy while swimming and sunning. Their show is over for the season after the finale aired on Tuesday, but Jenna and Kevin are sticking by costars like newly married Jane Lynch on their European vacation. Plus, if you need your Glee fix, there's all sorts of new merchandise coming our way. Click here to view the images |

• It's A Miracle! Artie Dances! • |
![]() |
|||
You eyes were not deceiving you, it was wheelchair-bound Artie Abrams (Kevin McHale) boogeying around a shopping mall on both feet in last night's "Glee" episode. In fact the former R & B boy-band star McHale is actually quite the mover when he's not sitting in the wheelchair as Artie on the show. "I come from a dancing background and hip hop," McHale tells Popcorn Biz. "Which is funny because when the show started it was like, okay, you put the dancer in the wheel chair." The decision to dance in last night's episode wasn't part of any master plan."In the beginning (of the series) it seemed we weren't going to go there, but it kind of fit," he says. "And I was happy." And it wasn't a science miracle, but rather a fantasy sequence in Artie's head. The mall flashmob sequence was pretty cool, something McHale chalks up to "following what the show's amazing choreographers told me to do." But the dancing scene will likely end McHale's streak of having fans of the show believe he actually is in a wheelchair and not just playing the part for television. McHale talks of walking into fans and having their jaws hit the ground in the early days and other stories of people understandably convinced that he is chair-bound. "Earlier we were setting up the press tour and we had planning people asking if they needed to make preparations to make sure every place is wheelchair accessible and all that," McHale recalls. "The show producers were like, 'No, really Kevin's not really in a wheelchair.'" On another note: he points out that the thick glasses are real and not thrown on for Glee club nerd effect. While he used to prefer contacts, he went with glasses for the part and never turned back. "For the original audition I decided to wear glasses and it just sort of stuck," McHale says. "Maybe that's why I got hired. Maybe they liked the glasses." source |

Gleeks, brace yourselves!Someone's not making it into New Directions this Fall. "Glee's" Mark Salling (Puck) and Kevin McHale (Artie) woke up early after their live performance in Los Angeles Thursday (May 20) night and spent 18 minutes on L.A.-based KIIS FM with Ryan Seacrest. Although they might be regretting their decision after learning that one of them isn't going to make the Glee club cut in Season 2. Seacrest said he sent an email to the show's creator, Ryan Murphy, Thursday night asking if he could break anything to the "Glee" cast members in the morning. Murphy sent him a zinger of a response: "You can tell them that both of their characters have to re-audition next season on the show..." reads Seacrest, pausing for initial reaction. "Wait a minute, for the show or on the show?" asks Salling, followed by a big laugh from McHale. Seacrest goes on, "...only one of them makes it in." "Ohhh, ohhh, I'm totally not going to make it in," moans McHale. Still concerned about what Murphy means by his phrasing, Salling rephrases his previous question, "But we're still going to be on the show, right?" "Then he says, 'Ha! They know nothing of this. It could be fun,'" continues Seacrest, finishing up Murphy's email. "For who? Fun for who?!" exclaims McHale. Seacrest then asks them to consider the possibility of not making the Glee club: "What would happen then if one of you doesn't make it in?" "I have to make it in," says a now sullen-sounding McHale. "I'm not going to sleep now." For the majority of the remaining 18 minutes, we hear obsessive, fanatical Gleeks get the chance to gab on-air with Salling, 27, and McHale, 21. Although some of them were so excited they couldn't even formulate questions. Seacrest -- or rather his team of worker bees -- attempt to get Murphy on the phone to clarify his cryptic email for the "Glee" guys, but to no avail. "Well, thanks for ruining my day," jokes (we think) McHale at the end of the interview. Somehow we don't think the "Glee" guys have too much to worry about. But we have to admit we're intrigued by Murphy's twist for the Fall! source |
